The web of life is not woven by humankind. We humans are only a thread woven within it. How we weave this thread into the web will effect the quality of it. What we do to the web is actually doing it to ourselves. We are interwoven. We are bound together. Everything is connected.
Look at numerous tragedies caused by incidents such as landslides, flash floods, cave-ins, radioactive leakage...all factors seem to indicate man-made errors aided by changing weather patterns which also have something to do with the way we treat the environment. Whenever a tragedy happens, calls for thorough investigation/probe to find out the cause and whatever by whoever are as expected. After all the fuss, findings would be filed up, had some initial action taken to show that at least something was being done and then no follow-ups...and later totally lapse into amnesia....be forgotten until the next tragedy...oh yes, as usual certain quarters would claim ignorance of the existence of the problem and try to shirk responsibility. The answer was to blame nature, the easy way out.
It is essential for humankind to take heed that civilization could be destroyed if we didn't care and make peace with the environment. Any action taken by us which will cause degradation and destruction of our environment will have disastrous consequences. We must seriously think and do some soul searching on how we want and going to deal with the future and overcome environmental threats. Did we learn from previous tragedies to avoid future tragedies? Did we learn from history at all? How do we intend to prevent future disasters? Nothing to do with me? Let other people think about it? I couldn't do much to change the world?
I have better things to do and worry about? Whatever will be, will be ? Fate?
Prescription : When we disregard the environment, we will destroy civilization
