Happy Birthday Dearest !!!

A birthday is the very special day of each year that has the same date as the one that one was born. Birthdays are celebrated in different ways all over the world. Nowadays, usually a birthday cake with candles and accompanied by a birthday song is a must. This used to be an integral part of birthday celebrations in a western culture. But traditionally in some culture, other dishes are also offered to wish the birthday star long life (longevity) and happiness such as red eggs, long life noodles('cheong sau meen seen), yellow tumeric glutinous rice (pulut kuning) etc. No matter how, I think on this day we should also remember the difficulty our moms had gone through to bring us into this world. Without them, we wouldn't be here.

Today is my wonderful hubby's birthday. In his family, they must eat two boiled eggs on their birthday. His mom used to prepare that for him when she was alive. As I mentioned above, it signifies long life (longevity) and happiness; a wish every mom hope for their child. I continued that tradition now on her behalf, wishing him all the good things in life and thanking him for being just him......

Prescription :  Every day is a special day if we value the things and people around us.
